Current thought running through my head::::::::::::::::Not having a car can be a real big bitch sometimes.
Worked today on a roof. Got a little too much sun. whoop. tomorrow i will know better. So apparently there is this government organization called OSHA thats job is to "save lives, prevent injuries and protect the health of America's workers." And boy, do they do their job, and do it very undercover.
So as we were working on this roof today we got a call from the company that contracted out Josh's company and told us we were not working under the proper saftey regulations stated by OSHA. OSHA's spys had been driving by and watching us.
So we had to put up these annoying plastic flag/streamer/rope things that in my opinion do nothing to help make things safer.
We had to have these things up near the edge of the roof.....and they hang at about waist heighth from these metal tri-pod things that are about every 25 feet. Now we had to work on both sides of the plastic flag/streamer/rope things because the edge of the roof need work done to it....and this edging had to be done while sitting on your knees....and get this....someone could only work on the edge if someone was watching them. just watching. I understand the idea of saftey in the work place...especially on something that is a little more dangerous....like a roof. But the saftely stipulations they set up wouldnt seem to do much. the plastic flag/streamer/rope thing wont catch you if you fall of the ledge....and if your working on the other side of the plastic flag/streamer/rope thing it wouldnt help anyway....and just watch your co-worker while he does the edge work?....i guess i see the point....but it seems a little silly. So we had to follow these guide lines otherwise the OSHA spies would report us a kick us off the roof....which doesnt seem like the safe way to handle things. all of this is only a big deal because i would barely call the plastic flag/streamer/rope things mobile....they are really a huge pain in the butt to move and it takes a lot of time.
whatever. money in the bank. blog post on the blog. something to read. hope you enjoyed.
over and out.
